Christmas Party – 2017

OUR CHRISTMAS PARTY

On December 17 we were able to successfully have a Christmas party at the Rooms for what I hope will be an annual event. The party was spearheaded by Mr. J. A. Higle and Mr. Dan Graves. They also were responsible for taking it upon themselves to decorate the Rooms for the party the previous week and we are indebted to them for their efforts. The food was outstanding and much more that we could possibly consume. Even the desserts went unfinished. The Haggis was lovely as always and presented this year on an heirloom silver platter that was kindly donated to the Society by Mr. Graves. Hopefully this will be left available for years to come. The Rooms really looked quite spectacular with a lovely Christmas tree and garland strung throughout the first and second floors. The punch and eggnog were delicious and I am convinced that everyone had a good time. The turnout was excellent and we ended the evening with Chris Uhl on the piano leading the entire group in a number of Christmas carols. I personally had a wonderful time and hope that this is just a portend of more gatherings and increasing use of the Rooms going forward. Hopefully next year we will have an even larger turnout.
