Capital District Scottish Games – 2015

The Opening Parade

The Opening Parade

The Capital District Scottish Games held at Altamont Fairgrounds were well attended this year by the community and our tent was well represented by our members who were ready to welcome guests. While it was a bit warm, the rain held off both days. The Society joined in the annual clan parade with a number of our members with family members.

As usual, the games hosted a number of competitions, ranging from pipe & drum bands to Scottish dancing to athletics, and the traditional competition of dogs. There was a wide variety of entertainment in the different venues of the fairgrounds and a wide selection of clan tents. It seems there are more and more vendors every year and they had a large crowd interested in their wares.

Once again, our Society collected names of individuals who are interested in membership.

A good time was had by all!
