Gentlemen:
\nThe vote to admit women as members of the Society was held at the stated meeting of the Society following the Officers annually sponsored BBQ on Thursday, September 10, 2015. <\/p>\n
The amendment to Article 2 and amendments to the Articles related to the amendment of Article 2, admitting women as members of the Society, was disapproved by a vote of 15 yes and 14 no. A yes vote of two-thirds of the membership present and voting was required by the Constitution to approve the amendments.<\/p>\n
An amendment to change the word “Amendment” to “Article” in Article 24 (Fees and Dues), basically a correction to the Article, was approved by a vote of 29 Yes and 1 No. <\/p>\n
As President, I would like to thank Past President Joseph Shook and Board of Managers Chairman, Peter Mckee for their time and efforts in supporting this Amendment throughout the long process.<\/p>\n
It was the opinion of some of the members that voted no at this time that this subject should be revisited in the near future.<\/p>\n
