ST. ANDREW’S NICHT CELEBRATION<\/strong><\/p>\n

November 30 once again marked the date of and exciting evening\u00a0honoring\u00a0St. Andrew\u2019s\u00a0Nicht. As usual we began the evening with cocktails\u00a0and light fare at the Rooms.\u00a0At 7:15 we\u00a0paraded to the Fort Orange Club\u00a0led by Piper to the Society, Mr. Gordon Peters, and our\u00a0Armorer Mr.\u00a0James R Burns. We had just shy of 60 members and guests in attendance.\u00a0Because of a mixup in schedules we ended up\u00a0in the main dining room this year which was actually quite a treat.\u00a0The food was delicious as always\u00a0and after dinner we were regaled\u00a0by the fine singing and harp\u00a0playing of Mr. James Ruff a music professor at Vassar College. He was playing a replica\u00a0Irish harp\u00a0and singing Gaelic songs\u00a0to everyone’s delight.\u00a0At the end of the meeting\u00a0we had the installation of officers\u00a0with Richard MacDowell taking over as President, William Burke as first VP and Andrew Patterson as the second Vice President.\u00a0The feedback was universally positive\u00a0and we look forward to another lovely dinner at the\u00a0Fort Orange Club\u00a0on 30 November 2018.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
